The False God of the Bible
“Men rarely (if ever) manage to dream up a god superior to themselves. Most gods have the manners and morals of a spoiled child.”
Robert A. Heinlein
We have all heard about the Ten Commandments, as seen in Exodus 20:2-17 (KJV), and in it we can read one of the most ridiculous and contradictory parts of the entire, so-called, Holy Writ concerning the worship of other gods:
”…for I the LORD thy God [am] a jealous God…”
How can the great Creator be jealous? Is the Creator of Heaven and Earth a sinner? Does he not say that thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that [is] thy neighbour’s. How can we expect to give up jealousy i He can’t? Does this sound like a great God or a Demiurge?
Personally I don’t think anyone reading these words will doubt what I think about this, but for clarity let me spell it out to you all: the God of the Bible is a F A L S E god (Demiurge), and I don’t care to discuss if there is a god or not since that’s a whole other subject, but if there’s a god it sure ain’t that one!
In the words of Jesus himself, according to Matthew 10:16 (KJV), be ye therefore wise as serpents and acknowledge the truth.
This brings me to another very interesting point that Manly P. Hall raises about the presence of a serpent in the Garden of Eden as can be read in his The Secret Teachings of All Ages:
“How the serpent came to be in the garden of the Lord after God had declared that all creatures which He had made during the six days of creation were good has not been satisfactorily answered by the interpreters of the Scriptures.”
Well enough of Bible talk for now… let me just say that I hope all you Christians out there realize that the Bible is not a Holy Book and should not be thought of as truth. This does not mean that you have to give up the ideals of Jesus or his teachings, but I suggest you read the Gnostic texts (Dead Sea Scrolls) instead since they are less corrupt and politically biased. In those texts a wiser, and more modern, Jesus appears. One that any man, or woman, believing in freedom of the mind can relate to. In the Gnostic Gospel of Philip it says:
“Those who say they will die first and then rise are in error. If they do not first receive the resurrection while they live, when they die they will receive nothing.”
In the 2nd century C.E. orthodox Christians began to persecute the Gnostics because they were seen as a treat to the Church. This is understandable since they viewed the God of the Old Testament as an evil being that dominated and suppressed man employing rewards and punishments. Thank Satan (joke) that times have at least changed a little or I would have been burned at the stake too for sharing their ideas.

Just so you know, jealousy isn't a sin. You may wish that you had a item or talent that someone else has, but it is what you think or label that person as that makes it a sin. Also i like your blog.
I see your point, but I think I was looking at it from a different angle than you. But if God is a jealous God and thus becomes jealous if you worship another God than him/her/it then that must be to sin. And even if it's not then to be jealous is for certain an emotion below any 'real' God if one does exist don't you think?
