Nidhogg is a Norse dragon that, when not tending to the destruction of the roots of Yggdrasil, punishes the most wicked dead by sucking on their corpses for sustinence. Just like Nidhogg we need to detroy the roots of the world i.e. TRADITIONS and CULTURES to form new and better ones, and like Nidhogg we must devour all evil doers because the world needs Freedom, Justice and Truth! --- Updated: 21st of Jan 2009

Urban Wilderness

I have been thinking about wolves and feral children recently. Some idea is forming in my head but I don't know what it might be, yet. Perhaps writing about it here will spawn, or assemble, what needs to form or be born.

In the occult and symbolic meaning of the wolf we find the wild side of human psyche, which should be encouraged and fostered. The wolf, especially in tarot cards, also represent the destroyer and/or destruction. Of course the Canis Lupus is also heavily connected with the moon, as well as its howl. The wolf is allied with Sirius, the Dog Star, and according to many cultures it is from there we all originate. The Australian Aborigines, the Dogon tribe of Africa, and certain Native American tribes all agree on this. But why listen to savages? Who knows better?

When we fear the wolf, it is the wilderness we fear! The freedom to roam. The starry night. The barren thundra, or the deep woods. The blood stained snow. The hunger. Here in society we have comforts, but do we have essence? Where is the wolf?
"We need a wiser and perhaps more mystical concept of wolves. /.../ In a world older and more complete than ours, they [wolves] move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth."
Henry Beston, The Outermost House
Hmm, perhaps I shall write something on the Urban Wilderness?
